Lake Kenosha at Camp Mattatuck
Get ready to pack your car with your wetsuit, bike and sneakers. Get Out N Play is rolling out a half iron and iron distance training camp in an convenient location, ideally suited for training and race preparation. Join the Get Out N Play team on June 22-24 at Camp Mattatuck in Plymouth CT for a weekend camp where your only worry is did you climb up that hill fast enough. Arrive on Friday and stay through Sunday, and train, eat and recover.

Camp Requirements:

Due to the nature of this camp it is necessary that you are able to cover the distance. If you have concerns about your fitness level, please contact me so we can discuss it. 

Open water swim: 40 minutes

Bike: 60 miles

Run: 13 miles

FAQ's
What is Camp Mattatuck?
Camp Mattatuck is a 500 acre Boy Scout camp situated among the majestic pines and on a pristine, private lake.

Where is Camp Mattatuck?
Camp Mattatuck is conveniently located off Route 8 in Plymouth, CT. It is about a 40 minute drive from Hartford, CT, 10 minutes from Waterbury and 20 minutes from Torrington

Are all meals provided?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared on-site by the team. Breakfast will be a buffet of options to fuel you for the day's workouts. Lunch will consist of foods to speed your recovery after a long day of training. You will need to bring your own nutrition for the workouts. If you tend to consume a lot of calories throughout the day, packing some extra food is advisable. 

Will I be sharing a room? 
Yes, the camp has a few large bedrooms with multiple bunk beds. The bathrooms and showers are down the hall. 

Will my fitness be good enough to handle this camp?
You need to be able to swim for 40 minutes, bike 60 miles and run 13 miles. This camp is geared to individuals preparing for July-September half or full iron distance triathlon. 

Is there electricity, showers and running water?
Yep. You will need to provide your own towels and toiletries. 

Do I need to bring my own sheets?
Yes, you need to bring your own sheets (or sleeping bag) and pillow.
